From Nadi to your Denarau doorstep.

Denarau can mean a resort check-in or a boat departure. Give your transfer the right destination from the start, and the first part of your Fiji holiday becomes much easier to organise.

The short version

Use Nadi International Airport as the pickup and the exact hotel or Port Denarau terminal as the destination. A car to the port does not include a ferry ticket. Check the quoted vehicle against both the passenger count and your luggage.

Choose the hotel, not just the island

Several resorts share Denarau as their location, but a driver still needs the correct entrance. Copy the property name and address from your accommodation confirmation. If you are staying in an apartment or private residence, confirm any gate instructions or reception arrangements with the host before travel.

Port Denarau is a separate drop-off for cruises and island services. If that is your destination, keep the boat company, departure and check-in details alongside the car booking. Do not send a driver to your resort when you actually need the terminal, or assume the port drop-off delivers you directly to an island hotel.

Know how you will find the pickup

Use your flight number and the local arrival date when booking. After landing, you still need to complete airport formalities and collect your bags. Follow the meeting instructions in the confirmed transfer rather than guessing which waiting area or desk belongs to your booking.

Keep the provider’s contact details available offline. If the flight changes or you cannot find the meeting point, use the channel named in the confirmation. Flight monitoring can help a provider adjust to delays, but it is not a substitute for giving the correct flight details or reporting a changed itinerary.

Make room for people and their bags

A vehicle’s passenger capacity does not necessarily describe its luggage space. Include suitcases, strollers and bulky equipment when checking the available option. For children, request the appropriate seating arrangement through the provider and wait for confirmation rather than assuming that a seat is included by default.

Compare the final quote, waiting arrangements and cancellation conditions before payment. Welcome Pickups completes and manages bookings made through its transfer service. If your route or requirements do not return a suitable option, ask your accommodation about an alternative; a planning guide does not establish vehicle availability.

Leave a margin before a boat departure

The drive is only one part of an airport-to-island connection. Allow for airport processing, traffic, port check-in and the boat operator’s boarding deadline. Ask the operator whether your flight works with that sailing before paying for two separate connections.

For an early departure or a late inbound flight, a mainland night may be a more relaxed choice. On the return leg, book the car around the boat’s confirmed arrival and your flight’s check-in requirement, while leaving room for disruption. A missed connection between separate bookings may not be covered by either provider.

A few useful answers

Does the Denarau transfer include the boat?

Not unless the offer specifically says so. A road transfer to Port Denarau and an island crossing are normally separate arrangements. Verify the boat ticket and check-in deadline with its operator.

Is the return ride included?

Only if you select and pay for a return arrangement. Check both directions on the confirmation, including the pickup address, date and time. A one-way airport pickup does not reserve the journey back.
